PSB- Health Occupations Aptitude Exam

Students applying to Health Science Limited Enrollment Programs are required to take the Psychological Services Bureau – Health Occupations Aptitude Examination (PSB-HOAE). Please review the full list of our Limited Enrollment Programs.

This exam assesses the basic academic knowledge needed to be successful in the healthcare field. Students should complete all program prerequisite courses and be eligible to apply for Limited Enrollment programs before taking the PSB-HOAE exam. 

  • Students are required to use their Baker UIN and Baker email addresses when registering for the PSB exam. We are not able to process PSB scores without the Baker UIN as your user name.
  • Students who complete the Limited Enrollment Application will have their Baker email address and UIN sent to the PSB website. Applicants will then receive an email to begin the Pre- Registration process.
  • Students will receive a pre-registration letter via email within 24 hours from PSB. Once students complete the pre-registration process, PearsonVue Test Center will grant student’s authorization to test within 48 hours. The Authorization to Test will be sent within 48 hours to your Baker email address where students will receive the next steps to register for the PSB-HOA exam.   • How do I learn more about the PSB- Health Occupations Aptitude Examination
    • Students who wish to receive one free download of their PSB exam results should create a Testing Account with PSB. Please go to and select 'Student Testing Account Sign Up' in order to create an account and request results.

What if I am told I am ineligible on the Limited Enrollment Programs application?

Since you indicated that you received a grade below a C on one of your core courses, or below a B- on one of your program requisites, you are not eligible to apply for a limited enrollment program at this time.

How do I remove my application once it has been submitted?

If you need to cancel or remove your application once it has been submitted, please send an email to [email protected].  Include your full name, UIN, and reason for removing your application from consideration.


Does the PSB-Health Occupations Aptitude Exam have a minimum score?

There is no minimum score required for the PSB-Health Occupations Aptitude Exam but a raw score of 260 out of 305 points or 85% is required to earn the maximum points possible for this area of the selection criteria.


Will my Limited Enrollment application be disqualified if I do not achieve the required score?

Students who score below 85% on the PSB-Health Occupations Aptitude Exam will be eligible for ranking.


How much is the PSB-Health Occupations Aptitude Examination worth in the ranking process?

The PSB-Health Occupations Aptitude Examination is 30% of the ranking score.


Will my Limited Enrollment application be disqualified if I do not achieve the required score?

Students who score below 85% on the PSB-Health Occupations Aptitude Exam will be eligible for ranking.


What is the last day I can take the PSB exam?

The last date to take the PSB exam will vary with each application cycle. Students who complete a Limited Enrollment application should refer to the Baker College Limited Enrollment Program Process Overview website for updated information on PSB testing deadlines.


How much is the PSB-Health occupations Aptitude Examination worth in the ranking process for nursing program candidates?

The PSB-Health Occupations Aptitude examination is a required component of the admission process for all Pre-licensure nursing candidates.  At this time the PSB will not be utilized for ranking for nursing program applicants.  Please contact your Academic Advisor for further information.


How many times can I take the entrance exam?

Students may test twice per application cycle but must wait 30 days between exams; It's important to take the exam early in the application process if you want the opportunity to attempt the test for a second time. Talk to your academic advisor or Program Director before retesting to see if it is right for you.
