Throughout the Forums portlet instances, messages that you have not read yet are marked with a green asterisk.
Additionally, when you are looking at the summary of a category or a topic, the system includes a column labeled Unread, which details how many items (posts and replies) you have not yet read within each category or topic.
If desired, you can also display a list of all items in the portlet instance that you haven't yet read.
To display a list of all unread messages within the portlet instance:
1. If you haven't already, navigate to the appropriate portlet instance.
2. If you are not looking at the Forum Home view, display the Forum Home by clicking the name of the portlet instance.
3. In the upper left pane of the Forum Home, click the button labeled Unread Posts and Replies. In response, the system displays a list of all unread posts and replies, along with the author's name and the location of each item.
