What is the URL for the Baker College Dreamspark Web Store site?

All MSDN software is now obtained through the MSDNAA Module on Blackboard.

 

I don't see the MSDNAA Module in Blackboard.

You must first activate the MSDNAA Module.

  • Log-on to Blackboard using your current Baker username and password.
  • Click "Modify Content" located on the top of the screen.
  • Scroll down the Modules List and select the "MSDNAA Module".
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Submit".
  • Click "OK" to confirm your changes.
  • The MSDNAA Module will be located on the bottom of the Blackboard main page.

 

What is my username?

Your username is the same Baker College username that you use to access other Baker College resources such as My Baker, BakerMail, and computers in the classroom.

 

What is my password?

Your password is the same Baker College password that you use to access other Baker College resources such as My Baker, BakerMail, and computers in the classroom.  If you are unsure what your password is, you may visit the Log in Assistance for more information.

 

Who is eligible for the MSDN software?

Currently, any user with authentication access to Blackboard using his/her Baker username and password, has access to All MSDN software obtained through the MSDNAA Module on Blackboard.

 

Which courses qualify for MSDNAA membership?

Currently, access to MSDNAA is not restricted by any course assignment or registration.

 

What software do I need do I need for my class?

Check with your instructor.

 

I am not receiving any email from Dreamspark Web Store.

The problem is most likely a junk mail or SPAM filter on your e-mail.  Your options are to disable the junk mail/SPAM filter or modify the filter to allow messages from Microsoft.

 

How do I get the installation codes (Microsoft/Dreamspark Web Store Purchase)?

The installation code/product key can be found for a limited time after purchase by logging in to Blackboard, going to the MSDNAA module, and clicking on Your Account Orders on the Dreamspark page.  Select your product, and if a product key is available, it will be provided in the Item description.

 

How do I install this software?

Installation instructions are beyond the scope of Baker College support for these products.  Do not attempt to install software on your machine if you do not have an understanding of the installation process.  Installation is at your own risk.  If you need information on Downloading and Installing Microsoft Dreamspark products, visit their Help page by logging in to Blackboard, going to the MSDNAA module, and clicking on the Help link on the Dreamspark page.

 

Can I have two installs?

If your coursework requires an additional install, your local Baker College support contact may issue an additional license at his/her discretion.

 

Will this software time out?

No.  The software is not functionally restricted, nor will it timeout.  The software does NOT qualify for future upgrades, but other than that, this is the same software that is released to the general public.

 

My hard drive/mainboard/NIC died and now my software doesn’t work?

If your software stops working due to hardware failure, your local Baker College support contact may issue an additional license at his/her discretion.

 

Will my old programs work when I install the new operating system (OS)?

Some Microsoft programs will import fully to a new OS; however, many other programs written for Windows will not.  If you have the original discs for your other programs, you can re-install them on your machine once you have installed the new OS.  Installation instructions are beyond the scope of Baker College support for these products.  If you do not have the original discs for your other software, we suggest you do not attempt installing this software on your machine.
