Cloud Security Risk Management Program Information

Employers urgently need senior level cloud security risk management leaders to address and mitigate mounting Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) challenges. This program helps individuals to get familiar with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and master cloud security risk management hands-on skills. In addition, the program enables students to combine their NIST RMF competencies with business and information systems management competencies. Upon graduation, students will be uniquely qualified for advancement to executive level cybersecurity positions.

MSIS Program Outcomes

Graduates of the MSIS program will:

  1. Possess the advanced oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively present and communicate complex IT issues within an organizational environment.
  2. Possess the research skills necessary to collect, analyze and interpret data to make decisions and meet the information system demands of organizations.
  3. Have the knowledge and skills necessary to develop, implement, and assess a strategic plan to meet IT needs effectively.
  4. Possess the critical thinking skills necessary for facilitating decisions, solving problems, and developing innovative processes to achieve continuous improvement.
  5. Prepare budgets, evaluate financial information and reports, employ risk management strategies, and perform cost/benefit analysis.
  6. Possess the interpersonal skills necessary to successfully interact with others, and to participate actively as a member of a team.
  7. Assess emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry and evaluate their impact on the enterprise.
  8. Have the ability to integrate information technology theories and apply the result to business opportunities and challenges.
  9. Have the project management skills necessary to successfully bring information technology projects to completion.
  10. Graduates will possess a commitment to ethical conduct and behavior in an information systems context.
