About Student Clubs and Organizations

Student organizations are an important element in the total college experience.  In order to enrich student educational growth and personal development, the College will encourage and support student organizations and activities which provide the following experiences: 

  1. Development of professional ideals and standards.
  2. Intellectual development, particularly in fields related to classroom experiences.
  3. Development of personal and professional friendships, associations and networks.
  4. Leadership development.
  5. Dialogue about current social, economical, and cultural issues and challenges.  
  6. Service learning projects and activities, on or off campus.

Chess Club Bradley Pierson ([email protected] This club's mission is to offer techniques and strategies to be successful at the game of Chess. The student club will include weekly events, competitions and other opportunities to learn the game. 
Cyber Defense Club Matthew Hansel ([email protected]) & Steven Vincent ([email protected]) Provides an opportunity for students in the Information Technology programs to network, organize students activities, engage in community outreach, invite technology professional to campus and complete IT projects.
Movement Matters Club Samantha Simonetti ([email protected]) Student organization meeting every other week to discuss common injuries of runners and active individuals followed by a walk/run as a group.  Come join a fun group of students and faculty members as we get out and MOVE. 
National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America Anya Petersen ([email protected]) To promote the professional and educational advancement of veterinary technicians.
Student Nurses Association Rachel Fajardo ([email protected]) An organization for students enrolled in BSN/BSN completion programs that promotes the development of professional nurse leaders. Nursing students work together to advocate for the provision of high quality health care and advance the nursing profession.
Yoga Club  Kelly Rhodes ([email protected]) A group to learn about Yoga and Meditation and the benefits it can provide.  Topics and classes chosen by the group.  Meeting and practice done individually or in a group setting in the Yoga Room.  All skill levels are encouraged to attend.

Baker Talent Club Randy Baker ([email protected]) Baker Talent Club is a  platform for students to practice their academic presentations (public speaking is, of course, a talent), as well as any other talents they may have, such as poetry, music, magic, etc. We  meet periodically, and  have contests . This is intended to streghten interactions and presentions using Toastmaster skills in a unique way.
The Lighthouse Scott Henderson ([email protected]) This is a faith and fellowship club that meets weekly to study the Bible, to pray and to get to know one another.
Rotaract Jamie Sowa ([email protected]) Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18 and older to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service.

Baker College ACM Club Dr. Sherri Maciosek ([email protected]) The Baker College ACM Club is affiliated with the ACM Professional Organization (acm.org). The Club is open to any Baker College student with an interest in computers and information technology. The Club focuses on building connections between student and professional members, mentoring, developing leadership, and participating in activities that promote the computing and IT professions.
Baker College Student SHRM Chapter Ashlie Roeder ([email protected]) & Julia Keider ([email protected]) SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management, creates better workplaces where employers and employees thrive together. The Baker College Student Chapter is a collaborative, volunteer organization seeking to improve the opportunities for students to learn more about the careers and competencies of the SHRM organization. Students can take advantage of resources and networks within SHRM and its state and local events with a student membership.

BC Human Services Club (HUS) Jessica A. Topor, PhD, LMFT ([email protected]) The Human Services (HUS) Student Club offers students the opportunity to volunteer and/or work in their communities.
